Le Méridien Hamburg

5-Star Hotel in Prime Location

So what made us choose Le Méridien over other 5-star hotels in Hamburg?

We’re not gonna lie, when it came to choosing where to stay in Hamburg, a convenient location was a super important factor, and Le Méridien’s central location makes it a convenient base to explore the city.

Nestled in the vibrant St. Georg district, on the banks of Outer Alster Lake, Le Méridien is within walking distance to many attractions, eateries, and LGBTQI-friendly cafes.

It only takes:

  • 10 mins to get to Hamburg central train station
  • 15 mins to Jungfernstieg (Hamburg’s famous boulevard) and town hall
  • 35 mins to Hamburg Airport (by S-Bahn line, or 16 mins by car)

A Place to Relax in Style and Comfort

Besides the central location, St. Georg is the best area to stay in Hamburg for another reason – the lake view!

At Le Méridien Hamburg, the breathtaking views of Alster Lake gave us an opportunity to enjoy tranquility while staying in the heart of the city.

The rooms have a minimalist appeal featuring a whimsical maritime design. Plush robes, slippers, and Malin+Goetz plant-based toiletries are offered to ensure your utmost comfort.

What we loved most is that the bedrooms come with a separate shower and Victorian-style bathtub (just in case you want a full relaxation!).

Coffee lovers will be delighted to find an Illy coffee machine in the room, with coffee pods refilled daily. Tea drinks not to worry, electric kettle and tea bags are at your disposal!

Top-Notch Facilities to Refresh Your Senses

Heritage Restaurant

At Le Méridien Hamburg, you don’t have to go far to grab a bite. Perched on the top floor of the hotel, Heritage Restaurant and Bar will tantalize all of your senses.

For breakfast or dinner, Heritage Restaurant invites you to indulge in delectable international fare with picture-perfect views of Outer Alster Lake as your backdrop. (We especially loved the tartar!)

  1. This looks like an awesome property! As a titanium elite member, Marriott properties are my favorite and ones I spend over 60 nights in every year. I’ll be in Germany in August and Hamburg is one of the cities I’m considering. I will have to keep this property in mind!

  2. Well this is definitely the place to stay in Hamburg. Luxurious accommodation in such a prime location overlooking Alster Lake. I love the touch of Illy Coffee in the rooms. Death by Chocolate – that is my type of dessert, it looks sensational.

  3. I will definitely consider le Meredian if I visit Hamburg. Affordable luxury is something all hard-working people deserve (and I take the liberty to assume that I maybe among them). Best part is the prime location and o so beautiful view from your room. Victorian style bathtub is something to watch out for.

  4. I love luxury, why should I hide it. And when I can afford a good hotel, why not?! I’m glad to have read your recommendation about the luxurious Le Méridien. Hamburg is one of the cities I’ve always wanted to visit in Germany.

  5. We’re yet to head to Hamburg. We should plan a trip soon.
Thanks for the review of Le Meridian. We will definitely consider this when we visit.
A room with a view is always a nice place to stay!
Death by Chocolate looks way too yummy! I wouldn’t miss it at all!

  6. As a family traveller, the location of accommodation is the number one factor we consider above all else. Its also so much better for the hip pocket when you don’t have to spend additional money renting a car or ubers because the public transport to get to and fro was just too cumbersome. The next thing we look at is of course a little luxury and a ton of comfort. The Le Meridian looks fabulous and I love that the restaurants looks over the lake. What a lovely way to wake up for breakfast.

  7. This property looks impressive! I like your room interior and that wall art is so cool. I’ll consider this property to our choices, since it looks like this is a good choice.

  8. A 5-star hotel, located centrally with easy access to tourist places, cafes and restaurants sounds like the perfect place. Le Meridien in Hamburg is undoubtedly a great hotel, I usually like their collection of hotels around the world, they’re well located, great service and good food too, as I can see in your experience as well. A room with a view of Alster lake must be icing on the cake!

  9. This place looks so luxurious and just the way we like. I loved everything about this place, the rooms look cozy and very relaxing. I am definitely considering this for my vacation

  10. I’m a HUGE fan of Meridien Hotels – love the one in Paris and am sure the one is Hamburg is equally as divine! From the photos it looks to be the case! Great choice for your stay.

  11. This place looks beautiful and sleek. I recently joined Marriott Bonvoy, so am excited to see this is one of the properties. I am fortunate to go to Germany every so often, so will keep this in mind.

  12. I’ve been waiting to hear about your Germany trip. This property looks beautiful and right up your alley. I love it that boutique / luxury hotels are coming in on mainstream points systems. We just lost our elite status at our brand of choice and it’s time to build it back up.

  13. I went to Berlin for about 12 hours and the one place my guide told me I needed to come back and return to was Hamburg. Once I am able to return, this looks like a cozy, yet luxurious place to stay for sure!
