Planning a wedding or honeymoon in Costa Rica? Make La Fortuna your destination! This charming town has stolen our hearts completely and was one of our most favourite regions in Costa Rica. But what really sets The Springs apart from the other hotels in La Fortuna is its secluded location. Sitting atop the Arenal Valley, the dreamy resort brings you close to the Arenal Volcano and rewards you with jaw-dropping views of the Arenal volcano, the lush valley, and the surrounding towns. Trust me, you won’t find better volcano views from a resort anywhere else!

Vista Grande Guest Room

The Springs offers a choice of 74 rooms, each of which ensures privacy and boasts a generous space for guests to unwind. Our Vista Grande Guest Room was located in the Aracari building, just a short walk from the Main building. From the moment we arrived, the room mesmerized us with its open space and warm decor.

Our room exuded luxury yet blended seamlessly into the surrounding environment with its rustically elegant wooden furnishings. Besides the king-sized bed, the 720 sq. ft. interior space also includes a full-size pullout sofa, a twin-size daybed, and a marble bathroom with a jacuzzi tub (big enough to fit 2 people!).

But for those looking for that extra wow factor, the picturesque volcano view from the private balcony really sealed the deal!

The room comes equipped with practical amenities you’d expect, from hairdryer to coffee-maker, as well as a flatscreen TV (with full media package) and complimentary Wi-Fi to keep you entertained, informed and connected.

Romantic Dining at Las Ventanas

It can be a pain to drive out to the town to find food. Luckily, The Springs offers multiple dining options to satisfy a very broad array of palettes – from local Latin cuisine to traditional Japanese dishes!

A dinner at Las Ventanas is a must, especially for couples and newlyweds! Not only does it offer stellar volcano views, this fine-dining restaurant also serves up mouthwatering fusion cuisine based on the fresh flavours of Costa Rica. What a perfect place to impress your significant other!

We highly recommend its pork belly confit featuring delicious layering of crisp skin, melty fat and moist meat, with a unique spicy kick from hot panameno chile and cilantro mayo!

If that’s not enough, then take the shuttle to Club Rio! This onsite outdoor center sits alongside the Arenal River and offers the widest spectrum of activities to fill your days with action. Kayaking, river tubing, horseback riding, and rock climbing are just a few of the fun things you can do there.

Kev and I went on a guided night walk tour at Club Rio and saw the famous Costa Rican red-eyed tree frog and two-toed sloth!!! A bucket list item checked!

  30. This Costa Rica luxury resort perches one thousand feet above the Arenal Valley on a mountain ridge just six kilometers north of the active volcano but safely outside the government declared danger zone. Our luxury hotel’s higher altitude relative to other hotels in the area allows for not only incomparable views of the Arenal volcano, the lush valley, and the surrounding towns that sparkle at night, but also access to the area’s famous prevailing breezes.
