On our 2-weeks road trip across Costa Rica, Kev and I had stayed in a good selection of luxury hotels. Of all the beautiful places we stayed at in Costa Rica, Casa Chameleon Las Catalinas was our most favourite place. This secluded boutique hotel, alongside its picturesque surroundings and adults-only policy, offered us the perfect opportunity to experience something we’d always wanted – la pura vida lifestyle!

On a hillside of Costa Rica’s Guanacaste coast sits Casa Chameleon Las Catalinas, a secluded tropical paradise overlooking deserted beaches and Catalinas Islands. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the artistic decor and breezy seaside atmosphere. Whimsical design touches could be found everywhere at the hotel. Feeling welcomed and at home, we were more than ready to set off on a relaxing holiday in Guanacaste and immersed in the rhythms of nature!

Embrace the Beauty of Nature and Serenity at the Villa

The first step to living la pura vida is embracing nature. We did just that from our villa at Casa Chameleon Las Catalinas!

Each villa is sustainably built and takes on a look that is pure tropical chic. Constructed using natural materials, the villa blends seamlessly into its beachside surroundings. Together with careful decoration, the room emanates the perfect balance of style and barefoot comfort. It is a haven of peace and serenity!

Clever in design, our villa surprised us with generous space and natural light. The room came with a canopied king-sized bed and an ensuite bathroom. Steps from the bedroom was the private terrace, where we could watch the reinvigorating sunrise in the morning and take a dip in our personal saltwater plunge pool.

  10. I’ve heard of Adults only pool in resorts. For the first time I’m hearing about an entire resort that’s adults only! I love the coziness of this resort. Guess it’s a no-go time for me currently with my new born lolz!

  11. Cat, that infinity pool looks absolutely amazing. And I like how the interior is modern yet incorporates elements of local culture. xx

  12. The views, the pool, the guacamole! This place is screaming my name. The setting looks so private, like if you had the entire countryside to yourselves. I would love to visit here next!

  13. So, you basically had me at “adults only.” The first time I ever experienced this sort of thing was 10 years ago when my step-sister got married in Hawaii and we stayed at a hotel with an adults-only pool. It was so nice to not hear children, so I can imagine how great this would be for the entirety of the stay. As a kindergarten teacher, I hate to admit, but I do love to escape kids once in awhile 😛

This place looks lush and the rooms are to die for! I’m itching to get over that way in the next year or so, and will keep this in mind!

  14. Casa Chameleon Las Catalinas indeed looks like a slice of paradise. What a rejuvenating place and the best part for me is the complete seclusion offered by the resort at the same time maintaining a luxurious ambience too. The saltwater pool is simply gorgeous too.

  15. I love Costa Rica and would love to go back to a resort like this, it looks fantastic! That view from the pool is heavenly!

  16. You already had me at the adults-only part, but then you showed me the plunge pool! Oh man, I need some of that in my life right now! This place looks beyond fantastic.

  17. This is absolutely one of the most gorgeous-looking places I’ve ever seen! I love that it’s adults only – I’m a big fan of getting to have peace from kiddos (not that I don’t like kids) especially when I’m having a romantic getaway with my husband. I love all of the views from the common areas. You’d also have to be dragging me away from that amazing pool!

  18. Okay, I would absolutely stay here! As someone without kids, I definitely love the adult only theme of this place. It looks so charming and relaxing and love that it is sustainably built.

  21. I am so bummed this place is adults-only! Why? It means I won’t get to go for another 14 years! However, it looks like it’s so luxurious that it will be worth the wait. I think the PRIVATE saltwater dipping pool is my favorite part. Wait, no the infinity pool! I love that, too!

  22. I would love to see that side of Costa Rica. Gorgeous place. Love that they are into sustainable life. The room looked really comfortable and relaxing. The demonstration cooking class sounds fun too.

  23. This place looks amazing! Costa Rica is so on my places of places to go…

  24. What an extraordinary place. There’s the beauty inside and out and then to hear that the villas were built with sustainability in mind, makes it even better. I hadn’t considered a luxury spot in Costa Rica but this seems perfect.
