Famoso is where Kev and I religiously go to whenever we crave authentic pizza. Dedicated in bringing the taste of Naples to its customers, Famoso makes their Neapolitan pizzas with authentic ingredients (campania tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, caputo ’00’ flour) in a bell oven. With its floor-to-ceiling windows and dome-shaped roof, you felt as though you were in Italy.
They have an extensive pizza menu, categorized by 4 different types- red pizza, white pizza, specialty pizza and new world pizza. On our last visit, Kev picked abruzzo ($14.75) from their red pizza selection. I am more bold so I decided to go with one of the new world pizza- spicy thai ($14.75).
The pizza had a soft, moist center with thin, chewy crust. The abruzzo pizza was loaded with Italian sausage, red onions, roasted mushrooms, fennel seeds and smoked mozzarella. It tasted okay. The roasted taste of the sausage was what made it special.

The spicy thai pizza definitely looked very thai with the raw carrots, bean sprouts, cilantro, crushed peanuts and lime wedge. The first bite tasted very raw, then it gradually grew on me. The spiced peanut sauce and chicken, together with the other ingredients were perfect combinations. Very light and refreshing. My only complaint about the pizzas was that the crust was too hard to chew on (it hurt my teeth).

Before we left, we had banana nutella pizzetta ($6) for dessert. If you go to Famoso, you cannot leave without having the banana nutella pizza. It was DELICIOUS! Who could resist the luscious combination of hazelnut chocolate spread, sliced banana and whipped cream?

Overall: Famoso is a great place to relax and enjoy wonderful Neapolitan pizza. The prices are decent. Moreover, it offers a great variety of pizza to choose from. We will definitely come back again.
