What is Haeundae Blueline Park?

The Haeundae Blueline Park is the hottest attraction to hit the city since October 2020.

This Busan attraction has a fascinating history. It was once a closed section of the Donghae Nambu Line, a former railroad track. But now it has been transformed into an eco-friendly tourist hotspot.

Stretching across a total distance of 4.8 km (3 miles), from Haeundae Mipo Station to Cheongsapo Station and Songjeong Station, you’ll have plenty of ground to cover.

What are the main attractions of the Haeundae Blueline Park?

The amazing thing about Haeundae Blueline Park is that it’s not just your ordinary ocean transport. It takes you to some pretty cool spots that are a bit off the beaten path.

Check out these awesome attractions along the way:

🌊 Dalmaji Tunnel: A must-visit spot for stunning photos with its vibrant colours.

🌊 Haeundae Sea Sound Gallery: Imagine an observatory and a lighthouse combined into one exciting attraction. You can enjoy an incredible view of the ocean while taking a break from the rain or summer heat.

🌊 Cheongsapo Mongdol Beach: A hidden gem that not too many people know about in Busan.

🌊 Cheongsapo seaside village: A charming fishing village known for its Instagram-worthy sunsets, delicious seafood restaurants, and rooftop cafes overlooking the ocean.

🌊 Daritdol Skywalk: Get ready to be thrilled! This skywalk stretches 72.5 m (238 ft) out over the sea, allowing you to walk above the water on a transparent glass floor. It’s definitely a favourite among tourists.

🌊 Gudeokpo Beach: Escape the crowds and soak in the beauty of crystal clear water by walking down the wooden stairs to this serene beach.

🌊 Gudeokpo: A small fishing village near Songjeong Beach that’s become a hotspot for unique cafes. Prepare to be delighted by the unexpected finds!

🌊 Songjeong Beach: Surf’s up! Songjeong is one of the popular Busan beaches, particularly known for its awesome waves. You can rent wetsuits and surfboards or even take some surfing lessons here.

If you’re short on time, make sure to visit the Cheongsapo seaside village. It’s famous for its mouth watering fresh seafood including grilled clams and eels. You might even spot some incredible haenyeo (women divers), adding to the authentic coastal experience!

If seafood isn’t your thing, the themed cafes here are still worth a visit. You might just find yourself popping in for a cuppa’ and enjoying the charming atmosphere.

Haeundae Beach Train vs Sky Capsule – What’s the Difference?

As mentioned before, we’ve got two fantastic options to explore the Haeundae Blueline Park – the Haeundae Sky Capsule and the Haeundae Beach Train! Let’s dive into the details that set them apart.

About the Busan Sky Capsule

The Haeundae Blueline Park Sky Capsule offers an absolutely magical experience! Imagine taking a ride through the air while soaking in the breathtaking view of Haeundae Beach.

The track of the Haeundae Sky Capsule stretches across 2 km (1.2 miles), soaring between Mipo Station and Cheongsapo Station.

Each sky capsule can accommodate up to four people, and here’s the best part: you’re guaranteed a private cabin no matter what! The cabin glides at a comfortable pace of 5 km/h (3 mph), overlooking the stunning ocean vistas.

The entire 2 km (1.2 mile) track from Mipo to Cheongsapo takes around 25-30 mins, allowing you ample time to capture those picture-perfect moments.

Here’s a pro tip: Catch the Sky Capsule from Cheongsapo station on weekends and holidays. Mipo station tends to get quite busy, and you might end up waiting a bit longer for an empty cabin.

How much is the Haeundae Sky Capsule ticket?

The Sky Capsule is available at prices starting from just 30,000 KRW for 2 people, 39,000 KRW for 3 people, and 44,000 KRW for 4 people.

These tickets are valid for one-way travel. To make your way back to your original station, you’ll need to obtain another one-way ticket.

About Haeundae Beach Train

The Haeundae Beach Train follows the entire route from Mipo to Songjeong via Cheongsapo. Unlike the Sky Capsule, it stops at various stations, including the acclaimed Dalmaji Tunnel (also known as the Moonlight Tunnel), the picturesque Daritdol Skywalk, and a charming fishing village called Gudeokpo.

Compared to Sky Capsule, the Beach Train offers a faster ride, reaching speeds of 15 km/h (9 mph), with all seats facing the ocean. A one way trip from end to end takes approximately 30 mins.

Keep in mind that since the beach train runs along the ground, some views may be partially obscured by surrounding trees. Nevertheless, it remains the most convenient way (aside from walking) to reach Songjeong and explore the attractions along the way.

How much is the Haeundae Beach Train ticket?

Haeundae Beach Train offers three ticket options: one-time boarding pass, two-time boarding pass, and the 1-day boarding pass!

If you’re planning a round trip, you definitely need either the two-time boarding pass or the 1-day boarding pass.

With the two-time pass, you can get off and hop back on once during your journey. As for the 1-day pass, it’s your ultimate ticket to explore all stations, except for boarding at the same station twice!

Compared to the Haeundae Sky Capsule, the Beach Train tickets are incredibly affordable.

Check out the prices: the one-time boarding pass is just 7,000 KRW, the two-time boarding pass is only 12,000 KRW, and the 1-day boarding pass is priced at an unbeatable 16,000 KRW!

Which one to take – Haeundae Beach Train or Sky Capsule?

Riding the Haeundae Beach Train is an awesome sightseeing adventure, while Busan Sky Capsule offers a super-cozy one. We totally recommend a combo of both, since they offer very different vibes.

Plus, imagine – on a scorching summer day, do you really want to be stuck in the capsule for a full hour? No way! Time is precious, after all.

Oh, and here’s the scoop – there are some hidden gems that only the Beach Train can reach.

Quick reminder, here are the major stations on the Blue Line Park, along with 3 smaller ones that you can easily reach by hopping on the beach train:

  • Mipo Station: Sky Capsule and Beach Train
  • Dalmaji Tunnel Station: Beach Train only
  • Cheongsapo Station: Sky Capsule and Beach Train
