Our friend Pat brought us to Sweet Revenge after dinner, which is located on Main Street, near E King Edward Ave. The store is small and unnoticeable from the outside.

This place was like a small antique store, with old paintings and decorations on the wall. The dimly lit environment elicited an intimate, cozy atmosphere. This place only opens in the evening from 7 pm. We arrived shortly after they opened so the store wasn’t too busy yet and we were able to get a table immediately. The store got very busy after 8pm and people had to wait in line for seats.

Pat said this is one of his favorite dessert places in Vancouver. They serve fine, homemade desserts that only use real butter, organic flour and organic free-range eggs and do not have any shortening, margarine, lard or preservatives.

Apple Pie with Whipped Cream

Apple Pie with Whipped Cream

We picked 2 of their bestsellers to try- the warm apple pie with whipped cream ($7) and chocolate pudding cake ($7). The apple pie was fabulous! I’d never had such a delicious apple pie before. The filling got a bit of the sour taste from the apple and it blended perfectly with the pie crust.

Chocolate Pudding Cake with Ice Cream

Chocolate Pudding Cake

The chocolate pudding cake seemed quite sweet because of all the chocolate sauce covered on the outside, but actually the sweetness was just about right. It was warm, moist and the texture was smooth like marshmallow. Perfecto!

We will definitely come back again to try their other desserts when we get a chance to visit Vancouver in the future.

My review: This place is like ferrero rocher. A perfect place for dates with romantic ambiance and delicious desserts.
