Last weekend, we tried the Italian restaurant in South Calgary that we heard serves authentic Italian food. The restaurant is located unnoticeably in a plaza.

We didn’t make a reservation for that evening. The servers were checking the table charts and it seemed that they were quite booked that day. At the end, they accommodated us and gave us a table 🙂

The classy look of the restaurant immediately set high expectations for the quality of food and services. Before our main dishes have arrived, Kev was devouring the warm, fresh-out-of-the-oven bread. I was saving some room in the stomach for the pasta.

Fettucine con Gamberi

Fettucine con Gamberi

Fettucine con gamberi is the pasta served with onions, mushrooms, baby and jumbo shrimp in spicy tomato sauce. The pasta is the best I’ve ever tasted in my life. The texture is really good and you can definitely tell that it is homemade. It is chewy, but its thickness is just about right that it immediately dissolves in your mouth.  The tomato sauce is simple. The seafood gives it a richer flavor. I usually can’t finish the whole plate of pasta in a single meal, but that evening, I just couldn’t stop eating because the pasta is just fantastic!

Lasagna

Lasagna

Kev ordered the lasagna. The cheese goes well with the tomato sauce. It is not too salty or cheesy. The pasta is nicely cooked but definitely not as good as the fettucine.

My review: I will rate this place like the Lindor chocolate. It is fancy, upscale restaurant that serves fantastic food at fairly affordable price. It is highly recommended that you try their pasta on your first visit. Also, remember to make a reservation because it is a very busy place!
